One of the things I love doing to help me relax is reading. You would never think that, by looking at me, but I’ve always enjoy reading. I think that is why my daughter Naomi reads so much because she’s exposed to lots a lot of books. I try to take Naomi to the library or the bookstore every 3 weeks to check out new books for her little mind. We make it a Fun activity and she always looks forward to going on her adventures. Now at 2 years old she’s already beginning to pick of signs of reading like following words with her finger as she reads and recognizing letters, shapes, and even her name.

“The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

– Dr. Seuss, “I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!”

Your Baby Can Read DVD Set

The best gift you can give your kids is teaching them how to read. I started Naomi on the Your Baby Can Read Program  at 3 months and now her Reading Level is at a Pre-School Level. Plus it got her to LOVE LEARNING! For any new parents I truly recommend this program because it REALLY DOES WORK! It’s a great way to introduce your kids to letters, shapes, songs, and super educational.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING THE PROGRAM: Don’t expect your kids to all of a sudden “read” right away after watching it a couple of times.. it takes a couple of months until they actually get the hang of it and starts becoming interesting in Learning.  OH YEAH! Please try to limit your kids television and shows and make this MAIN thing they watch DAILY.

Tip “T.I.” Harris & David Ritz – “Power & Beauty”

T.I. collaborated with best seller David Ritz and I made sure to buy it as soon as it released on iBooks!  This is a Fictional Novel this about two young teenagers “Power” & “Beauty” trying to make it in Life while still trying to seek for comfort, power, and love. He’s an excellently writer and as I was reading each page I swear I could hear T.I’s voice saying every word to me…. AHHH!!! ^_^ A MUST READ! He’s such a Family Man and I love watching his NEW BET Reality Show “The Family Hustle”

Ellen Degeneres – “Seriously… I’m Kidding”

One of my Favorite Comedians and Talk Show Host is the one and only Ellen Degeneres! She’s so funny to me and I couldn’t help but LOVE her Book too! This is her 3rd book she has published and I was literally cracking up the whole time I was reading it. She talks about American Idol, her busy schedule every day on her Show, opening up to the public about her being a Lesbian, and really opened my eyes to getting my HEALTH together by meditating. I admire her so much from her hard work, personality, and just being herself. I can’t believe she’s turning 54 today (1/26)!!! Happy Birthday ELLEN and you still look AMAZING! You Go Cover Girl!!!

Kendra Wilkinson & Jon Warech – “Slidng Into Home”

She’s the REALIST / Funniest / Sporty “Girl Next Door” everyone grew to love! In this book she talks about her major Drug Addiction at such a young age, being a Stripper, and Living at the Playboy Manson. Now she’s married to NFL Star Hank Baskett and is a new mother to Hank Jr.  This is her first memoir book and that Go-Getter just published out her 2nd book “Being Kendra: Cribs, Cocktails, and Getting My Sexy Back” which is on top of my List TO READ!

Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen & Amy Newmarket – “Chicken Soup for the Soul Think Positive”

”Change your thoughts and you change your world.” ~ Norman Vincent Peale

This year I’ve been really trying to be more Positive by THINKING POSITIVE. I enjoy reading about inspirational stories and how people change and grow and after reading a couple of pages it actually made me feel better. Whatever I was feeling before I started reading, this book helped me realized that Life isn’t all that BAD, if only we take our time out to appreciate the GOOD that’s around us…

“Change your thoughts and you change your world. When times are tough, when I feel so frustrated by disappointments and not reaching my goals, I repeat those words in my head and make a conscious, almost physical effort to change course, recalibrate, and steer my little ship of self in a fresh, more positive direction.”

Adeline Yen Mah – “Chinese Cinderella”

This is actually one of my favorite books I read when I was in Middle School and I recently started reading this again! It’s about a True Story of an unwanted daughter from China that grew up and become an extremely successful writer and made a name for herself. I remember getting really emotional reading this because I could feel her pain, her sorrow, and wonder why nobody wanted a gifted young girl. But in the end she had the last laugh when she finally became “Famous” in China and finally got the recognition for her parents that she well deserved.

“Reading takes us away from home, but more important, it finds homes for us everywhere.”

– Hazel Rochman
