It’s that time of year when Spring Cleaning is all I want to do. I actually enjoying clearing out my closet, makeup counter, brushes, bags, and seeing what I need to get rid of and what to keep. All makeup products high-end and budget friendly have a shelf life. As your professional esthetician and skin care advisor I recommend reading the back of the label and checking out the expiration to make sure the quality of your product still works effectively. Mascaras need to replace every 3 months or sooner if it’s starts to dry out. Any broken compacts or eyeshadows, place them in the trash and discard immediately. This is also the time when I collect my recyclable from MAC and bring them in for a new eyeshadow, lipstick, or clear brow gel (call or check with your MAC Cosmetic Store and see their official recyclable rules.)

Please come join me and we can learn how to achieve a long-lasting, flattering look together. From hydration, to utilizing complementary looks that are easily achievable and suitable for everyday life. If you can’t make it, no worries I will post all my notes here on my blog.
Let’s start off with Skin Care because having a great skin regimen is super essential and taking proper care will improve your health and help make your makeup look and feel better. You want your skin to be hydrated, plump and juicy, yes i said it… JUICY. Great skin should look LIGHTEN TIGHTEN & BRIGHTEN. Vitamin C Eye Cream and Serums are all awesome for long term effects. It help depuff and with dark under eyes.
NEWEST PRIMER ON THE BLOCK: Exclusive not release in store until 4/23, and fresh out the box! This right here is a game changer! Great for all skin type (men or women) and bio available meaning it will improve your skin with every use.
Mineralize Timecheck Lotion utilizes ingredients that fight against time. The addition of a new innovative polymer technology also creates the optical illusion of blurred lines and wrinkles, while helping to shrink the look of pores. Formulated with our signature Charged Water Technology to saturate skin with short- and long-term hydration and Mineral-Rich Yeast Extract to nourish and redensify the complexion with a blend of essential minerals. Delivered in a unique gel-lotion formula that feels like a cooling, refreshing splash of water. Can be applied as a primer for makeup that glides like silk on top.
Another great new product I got to try was the Skin Refined Zone Treatment A light, oil-free emulsion that helps cloak visible pores while controlling oil and shine. Applies “wet” for a gentle micro-exfoliation: dries instantly to create an invisible, long-lasting natural matte finish. Ideal for the T-zone.
Skin regimen for MEN: Timecheck Primer, Skin Refine Zone on the t-zone, clear brow gel brush up and set, and lip condition.
For the real skin look try Lightful C Tinted Cream SPF 30 with Radiane Booster. There’s 9 different shades to get your perfect match. It’s a color product with a tinted moisturizer that will hug your skin. It’s self setting & Bullet proof that has a sheen to it. It’s also moldable and versatile.
For contouring the face, you want use a #168 brush. Start at the corner of the ear and stop no more than the corner of the eye for the natal shadow. It just works. You want to use the Dark deepsest bronzer around temple and blend and mold it into the foundation. Try not to make the forehead look too crowded.
Do not set anything until you’re happy with the look, like Senior Artist Ashley Rudder explains, Powder is like marriage, if you’re not committed don’t put a ring on it. Using a mineralize loose powder and a #137 fluffy brush, it takes the coverage up a notch, yet skin like.
#187 and #188 are excellent blending bossy brushes.
Great Secret Tip: Using a mac travel size bottle fill it half way with loose setting powder and the other half with your skin color powder for easy touch ups. Simply pop the top and sprinkle on top of your brush, tap down to remove extra powder and boom, no more opening loose powder container having them spill all over you and a great custom color on the go. You’re welcome!
Universal Casual Color Blush that works well on all skin tones and should be in your artistry kit is “Out For Fun” it’s a cream bush that you can apply with your finger tips by bringing it down and pat it back and layer on your apple of your cheeks great looks for day or night.
For cream highlighter you want to go for a beachy, melty, silky, luxe go with “hush” or “luna” and take it up to the brow bone.
Using a #224 small fluffy brush spray with Fix + and use a powder highlighter “Soft & Gentle” at the very crest of the cheekbone for a more gorgeous finish and the skin is on!
I love a natural brown smokey eye so MAC Cosmetics did a very cool thing by creating palette with Warm Tones to take the guessing out of which shadows that works for every day looks. If you haven’t played with it yet, theres tons of colors and you can bounce your brush back from skin shade to darker shades to custom color your eyes. Wiggle your brush in the powder, flick flick flick your brush, then press on the eyes to eliminate any fall outs.
To intensify any color , wet your brush with Fix + and then apply to the eye for a more dramatic effect.
Pro Longwear Eyeliner in Definitely Black is a must for your kit.
Waterline should always be filled, I love a nude look for my eyes in color Risqué
For the Brows using a Tinted Brow Set “Quiet brunette” or “Girl Boy” go against the grain then brush up. It’s waterproof and stays all day.
If you like a pencil look, try “Lingering” then use brow powder at the base to sharpen the look, start at the arch then work to the tail.
Heres another Tip to saving more room in your kit. Instead of having multiple cases for the same lash pair, try stacking the same eyelash model on top of each other. It makes it much easier for bridal makeup and you can recyclables the empty cases.
Mascaras is super essential! Haught & Naughty is a great product because it’s waterproof and it comes your classic black and a minky brown. It is a two-in-one mascara that lets you choose if you want lashes to be naturally defined, or instantly combed and loaded for full-on drama. Easy to use dual-wiper system allows this lightweight formula to go on either way. One wiper refines the application for a clean sweep, while the other loads the lashes for greater impact.
MAC Eyelash Curler awesome because the bouncy rubber actually bumps it up instead of crimping them. Bump them up and get them organize. To avoid clumps, let the mascara dry before adding another coat to get it looking lushy and not clumpy. Take your time with your lashes. Then mascara the bottom lash.
When it comes to makeup, my favorite thing I can’t ever have enough of is lipstick. Depending on my mood and what I’m wearing, I like to apply 3 or more lip products on my lips every day. I start off with a Lip Conditioner first because it has sweet almond oil and shea butter to help with soften the lips. Get it on as early is essentials to help with dry crack and for a smoother application. Let it work it’s magic before adding liner, lipsticks, and lip gloss. One of my beauty tricks for a more plump juicy lips is a Double Gloss. I like to go with a darker lip liner, then 2 lighter lip gloss to go on top to make my lips pop and appear bigger. The reason why I love MAC products so much is because its awesome on camera and awesome in real life.
