The Val Garland school of makeup – Part 1

“A girl obsessed with mascara. She leaves her makeup on from the night before, takes a shower, and reapplies mascara.” – Val Garland.

I was inspired by Val’s MAC Cosmetics Autumn / Winter 2015 Mary Katrantzou fashion show. I was going for a super cool, clean, fresh, Russian Princess Doll-like lash set against young skin.

MAC PRODUCTS USED

Strobe Cream is the ultimate quick fix for the skin. Enhances the effects of light on all skin and in all lighting conditions from sunlight to spotlight.
Face and Body Foundation blended over skin.
Shell Cream Colour Base lightly brushed across the cheek bone.

#4 Lashes were applied with Duo Adhesive
For the bottom lash, cut the lash in bundles of 6 hairs and then trimmed into a square shape.
Pro Longwear Eyeliner in Defently Black was used and drawn under the lower lashline and intensify.
Lashes are curled and brows filled in and groomed with Clear Brow Gel.
Extended Play Gigablack Lash was generously coated and just when you think you’re done, apply plenty more.
Risqué Technakohl Liner applied through the waterline to open and brighten the eye.

Lip Conditioner (Tube) applied to hydrate and soften the lip.
Lip Glass was added to highlight eyelids and lips
